Rootz and Dootz;
Together Forever
Inspired by a real life Central Park bench with the title’s engraving, the musical fictionalizes the tale of Rebecca and David.
Set in the upper west side of Manhattan, Rootz and Dootz; Together Forever follows Rebecca, an editorial assistant who dreams of becoming a writer herself. Struggling with an idea for her first big novel, she continues her work reading submissions sent to the slush pile at her firm. When she becomes less than impressed by David, the man trying to seduce her, David decides to send his romantic love letters to her slush pile, ensuring that she will have to read each one. Rebecca realizes she wants these events to inspire her novel and, as the show unfolds, has to decide whether she only needs more material for her book, or if she really does develop feelings for David.
